Bulls-Hawks Open Thread

Dick Stockton just called the Bulls "surprising". Is anyone actually surprised by anything the Bulls are doing right now?

They just said 7 of the 10 starters have played in the Final Four. I know Noah, Horford, Rose, Hinrich, Marvin Williams, and Boozer are 6, I know Josh Smith and Joe Johnson didn't. Which one made it between Bogans and Deng? Going to have to look it up.

  1. I like this start by the Bulls, but worry about Boozer guarding Josh Smith. The Bench Mob is going to have to step up.

  2. I can't tell if this game is boring in general, or it just seems that way because Stacey King isn't involved.

  3. Like the way Luol is playing so far. His poor D on Smith is evident, but still has been backing up on people. Make free throws!

  4. Kirk is probably the only person who could have survived that cross over by Rose.

  5. I can't believe I'm older than Zaza Pachulia. Now I feel old.

  6. Kirk has been a turnover machine the last few minutes.

  7. I think Rose batted that ball to himself off the board...

  8. Lu is very much attacking the basket, love it. Don't love Big Sexy not being fast enough to get over and help.

  9. Mike Fratello didn't do that take justice. Go here instead: http://www.nba.com/bulls/stacey-king-soundboard.html

  10. The set of plays the 2nd unit runs are so different than the set the first unit runs. I know a lot of the first unit plays are designed to use Derrick's talents most effectively, but I wonder if Deng could run the curl the way Fredo does and get Booze and Noah easier touches around the basket.

While I was typing that, CJ made a sick layup, that Dick Stockton barely sold. I hate nationally televised games.

  11. Better take a time out with that Hot Sauce!

  12. That's the kind of move I want to see Boozer make more of. He shied away from inside contact last night.

  13. Why are you still leaving Derrick open? Are you just not trying to play defense, Hawks? Can the Bulls score 140 tonight?

  14. As I was about to write about how the Bulls had a bit of an offensive breakdown at the end...Rose goes and hits his 3rd 3pt in a row. I believe those were his last 3 shots as well.

  15. I was hoping the Bulls would learn from experience against these guys and just come out with the pedal to the metal here, but it's been a little ugly so far.

  16. Yeah, way too many fouls by the Bulls. Offense still looking good.

  17. Too bad White Mamba's in street clothes tonight.

  18. Hopefully Derrick can hit one more more, then sit the whole 4th quarter.

  19. No bench player besides Fredo has missed a shot yet.

  20. Announcers are talking about 6 and 7 seeds plus TT is sitting down?

  21. Fratello and Stockton are pretty much done talking about the game, apparently.

  22. I want to get the 1 seed and play Indiana or Milwaukee in the first round. 1: I will totally drive to either of those places to watch a game, and 2: I think either would be a sweep, and the Bulls would get more rest. I think the Knicks or Sixers might make us work for it.

  23. An away playoff game would be pretty dope and I wouldn't want to play the Knicks either. I think Spike Lee's crazy orange an blue outfits would distract the players.

  24. Does anyone else hear a soccer style chant going on in the arena?

  25. The Knicks are always the type of team that can steal a game or two in a seven game series. Although part of me kind of wants to Knicks to shut their fans up.
